Things to do in months before leaving

It’s all about the list. If you are leaving a home for six months to travel to another State in Australia to live, there are things to do to make it a smooth transition.

My list so far is:

The Car

• Have car serviced
• Clean and vaccumm car

The House

• Final declutter
• Inventory pantry, fridge and freezer. Eat down the pantry, fridge and freezer.  
• Don't buy anymore perishable groceries.
• Inventory fridge. Eat anything in fridge & clean out.
• Reduce cleaning products
• Wash bed sheets
• Finalise packing
• Clean oven
• Clean fridge
• Clean freezer once empty
• Clean microwave
• Let utilities know I am moving (Telstra, Red Energy etc)
• Notify insurance agent to transfer locality - car & house
• Contact water to turn off
• Pull out plastic travel bins for packing

Personal

• Clean my shoes
• Wash clothes
• Pay any bills
• Have haircut
• Eat a steak a few days before

Social

• Inform neighbours we are leaving

The Trip

• Confirm reservations
• Check weather
• Stock up on any regional food you want to take
• Make sure you have copies of important and relevant documents
